About Data

Data formats

TEAMS-EBIS probides the following formats for downloading your result data.

ODV Spreadsheet

ODV Spreadsheet is a format used by "Ocean Data View".

WHP-Exchange

WHP-Exchange format is one of the standard formats of "World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE)".
The data types that can be downloaded are temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen.

FETI (J-DOSS)

FETI (Format of Exchange and Translation for Integration) is the standard format of "Japan Oceanographic Data Center (JODC)".
The data types that can be downloaded are temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen.
* This link from "Hydrographic and Oceanographic Department, Japan Coast Guard".

Custom format

You can set the data items, order, and delimiter for downloading.
Each column of the data has a quality flag "QF" (blank: not calibrated, 0: accepted value, 4: questionable, 9: missing or error value).

NetCDF

NetCDF is a self-describing, machine-independent data formats for the sharing of array-oriented scientific data.
Data description is based on CF conventions version 1.6. “Observation instrument code" is based on “Observation Instrument Code Large Classification" of Japan Oceanographic Data Center (JODC). Each data has a quality flag (0: accepted value, 1: not calibrated, 4: questionable, 9: missing or error value).

Attached files

The downloaded dataset contains attachment files. Please refer to the following instructions about these files.

Metadata (PDF)

File name example: Metadata_YYYYMMDDhhmmss.pdf
Metadata is the information about the downloaded data, such as observation type, quality level of data, observation period, observation area, equipment of measurements and so on.

Metadata URL list (text)

File name example: MetadataUrlList_YYYYMMDDhhmmss.txt
The list of the URLs of the download data in "Research Information and data Access Site of TEAMS (RIAS)".

Citation list (text)

File name example: CitationList_YYYYMMDDhhmmss.txt
The list of the citations about downloaded data.

* "YYYYMMDDhhmmss" is the data of download.

Quality levels of data

The quality control levels on this site are following,

Raw: Original data, No additional quality controls.
Qced: Routinely quality controlled. (ex. adding quality flags or conversing to missing value.)
Corrected: Corrected with calibration data, evaluated errors or filtered out of low reliable data.
